In short: English Words does not collect, send, sell or share any personal data. Everything you save stays on your iPhone.

Data the app collects

None. The app has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not include any third-party SDKs.

Data stored on your device

The words and sentences you mark as favorites.
Your chosen translation languages in the Translate tab.

This information is stored only on your iPhone. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is removed when you delete the app.

Text you type and pronunciation

Text you type in the Translate tab is matched against the word list inside the app, on your device. Pronunciation uses the text-to-speech voices built into iOS. We do not receive this text.

Sharing with third parties

We do not share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any.

Retention and deletion

We keep no data about you. To remove everything the app has stored, delete the app from your iPhone. If you have any question or request about your data, contact us at the email below.

Changes to this policy

If a future version adds features that handle data differently, for example online translation, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
